Erin O'Connor Returns on Ramp

It’s been a year since Erin O’Connor graced the catwalks, but last night she returned to walk for Gaultier’s Autumn Winter 2011-12 Couture presentation.
The supermodel reported that she was terrified before the show, but her old friend Jean Paul calmed her down with some macaroons.
O’Connor went onto explain that Gaultier contacted her via text message — “as you do” — and she felt she couldn’t refuse. She also walked for Natalia Vodianova’s charity catwalk, after a shoot with Patrick Demarchelier.
“Couture for me is exciting because the clothes are bespoke fitted to the body they are intended for – no getting poured into a readymade garnment and no pressure on body size and the sometimes limited appreciation of diverse body types,” explained the model.
“Couture is also about theatre – nothing casual – and the emphasis on beauty is celebrated by making a statement about individuality. It’s also a great release when you’re actually really shy like me: I love the performance element of it all and I hadn’t realised quite how much I’d missed it.”
Will we see more of her in upcoming shows? Here’s hoping!
